Hi There!

Avid pun maker, coffee consumer and attempted writer. An aspiring wannabe author from the city of Derby.

Hi I’m Jenny. I studied Creative Writing and American Studies at Hull University where my passion to write became the prominent driving force in my life and I am currently chasing my dream of having my stories in people’s personal libraries.

I’ve decided to take on my first serious writing project and I figured I’d share my journey on the internet to reach out to as many people as possible, to gain inspiration, and to finally put some of my stories out there into the world.

I’m 28 years old and have currently self-published a collection of short stories around mental health for children, the background of which you can read here. I am currently in the process of writing the first draft for a fantasy series which I cannot wait to share.

My Favourite Books

Mental Health Short Stories

The Girl Who Took a Rocket to the Moon & Other Stories is a collection of 7 short tales for kids and adults alike. Each one takes a look at a different aspect of mental health or emotion in the hope of getting everyone talking about the subject at a much younger stage whilst at the same time, enjoying these slightly surreal and other-worldly stories.

"The book is written well and in a manner that young children can understand, I feel like the imagery in the text could benefit a child to understand their feelings better. I believe this book could be a great help for adults and schools to talk about mental health in a less scary way."
