August – A Busy Month Chasing My Dream

What a month August has been!

So as I previously made you aware in my last post, the digitized version of my collection of short stories has been released on the Amazon Kindle store – cue shameless plug:

This was my first step into self-publishing and chasing my dream of becoming an author. I seriously cannot thank people enough for sharing it, shouting about it on social media or even just buying a copy. The reception I’ve had so far has been incredibly mind-blowing and I genuinely don’t think it’s hit me yet. In all seriousness, it’s just bizarre to think that I’ve written something that people are actually willing to pay money for! And it’s not just my mum and dad buying copies over and over! (Yes I checked, and no don’t I think Amazon actually let’s you do that anyway).

Now onto my next bit of news: The paperback versions are now printed and in a big ol’ box in my living room!

Here’s a picture to prove it:

Not only have I experienced a wonderful reception for the Kindle version, but I’ve received an absolutely overwhelming reception for the physical copy! That’s right folks, you can now officially get a paperback copy of my collection!

If you’re interested in purchasing a copy then please feel free to send me an email ( and I can look to send a copy out to you. They’re £5 with 50% of the profits going to the Will Garvey Trust Fund which is in aid of charities that help to prevent male suicide.

And with that, I can glide into my next piece of news. This weekend just gone was Willfest 2017. This is a festival that’s put on every year by the Garvey family in honour of their son Will. It was a touching and moving event with music, food, crafts and a whole host of other activities going on. I am so unbelievably proud of all of those involved that helped to set it up. I even had the honour of playing an acoustic set, as well as sell paperback versions of the book.

Willfest 2017 Yes, that is indeed a grove of knitted baby Groots.

So now it’s time to plan out what I’m wanting to do for September. For starters, I really want to send out some of the rewards for the backers of the campaign. I also want to go to other parts of the UK to promote the book by handing out flyers. All of my plans may be in their infancy, but I’ll be organised soon for sure! As soon as I know, I’ll let you know.

Peace out for now!
